Bio

In 2003, The Pink Spiders formed in Nashville, Tennessee. The band took storm immediately, recording their first EP in the first three weeks. The band’s first release show doubled as their live debut and was sold out.

Early on, the band befriended touring punk band, Sadaharu. Through that band, The Pink Spiders and CI Records crossed paths and decided to work together.

In January 2005, CI Records released The Pink Spiders debut studio album, Hot Pink. The album is enjoyed by many for its 1960’s teen pop sound and the vinyl theme that needle pops, cracks, and hisses provide throughout the track list. ‘Hot Pink’ featured fan-favorites like ‘Teenage Graffiti’, ‘Modern Swinger’, and ‘Little Razorblade’.

The band went on to work with talented musicians and producers such as Rick Ocasek of The Cars. The Pink Spiders shared the stage with notable bands including Thirty Seconds to Mars, Good Charlotte, Yellowcard, All Time Low, Sugarcult, and Fallout Boy. In 2006, they were listed in the “100 Bands You Need To Know’ from Alternative Press.

The band released the album ‘Teenage Graffiti’ in 2006 with Geffen Records featuring re-releases of tracks including ‘Little Razorblade’, which peaked at number 84 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band was featured on MTV’s ‘Total Request Live’ and received heavy play on popular television network ‘Fuse’.

In 2008, the band released ‘Sweat It Out’, a self-released independent album. Shortly after, The Pink Spiders announced a hiatus from the band. The band released two singles in 2011.

In 2017, the band released two brand new singles including ‘Black Dagger’, and announced a 10 city tour with the same name. The success of this tour directly provided a strong response on a kickstarter campaign titled ‘Mutations’ listed by the band. The Pink Spiders began working in Nashville on their new album. On July 21st, 2018, the band’s album ‘Mutations was released.

Today, the band consists of members Matt Friction, JoCo, Joey B-side, and Young James. The Pink Spiders continue to tour across the country playing an awesome mix classics and new music. The Pink Spiders released their most recent album, Freakazoid in 2023.
