Bio
TGHB was formed in the spring of 2014 by singer/guitarist Neal Karkhanis, bassist Owen Brinsor and drummer Paul Martinez (formerly of "You, Me, and Everyone We Know), becoming regulars at the storied Baltimore venues, Charm City Art Space and The Ottobar, opening for bands Hellogoodbye, Vacationer, Fenix TX, and many more.
The band self-released their debut EP, “Weird Thoughts,” in the summer of 2014, eliciting the interest of CI Records, known for its success with The Pink Spiders, The Juliana Theory, August Burns Red, Texas in July, etc., and the band was signed.
In October 2015, the band released ‘Songs In Eastern Standard Timing’, their first full-length album, on CI Records. During the creation of this album, guitarist/singer Eric Taft joined the group. That same year, TGHB and CI Records released ‘Three Christmas Classics: A Four Song EP’ for the holiday season.
2015/16 saw tours with The Venetia Fair & Icarus the Owl, as well as festival performances at LAUNCH Music Conference & Festival in Lancaster, PA, main support for Bayside, and Milwaukee Summerfest, where they were awarded the prestigious Summerfest "Emerging Artist of the Year" Award. The band's videos for the singles "Portland" and "Coming Around" were premiered by Idobi Radio and Alternative Press, respectively.
In 2018, The Great Heights Band released their second full-length LP ‘Rad Pop’ featuring songs like “Better Things” and “Straight To Hell”.
